Common Complications Following Gall Bladder Surgery
According to a published study, bile duct injuries are the most commonly encountered technical complication that occurs during gall bladder surgery, with an incidence rate between 0% and 2%. Of the 170 patients in this study, two encountered other types of technical complications. The study also reports that certain technical complications unique to gall bladder surgery account for a significant number of postoperative deaths.
